Novocure has developed a novel technology, Tumor Treating Fields (TTF), for cancer treatment. Delivered through different medical devices, TTF uses alternating electric fields to disrupt cancer cell division. New exhibits at Novocure’s North American headquarters in downtown Portsmouth explore the science behind this innovative therapy and trace the company’s history.
Visible from the street, illuminated kiosks showcase artifacts representing milestones in the development of TTF—from the original microscope used to prove the efficacy of alternating electric fields to the latest device for administering the treatment. Visitors will find answers to their questions about TFF at a large digital touch table, while a wall-mounted screen displays up-to-the-moment information about the company (locations around the world, number of patients receiving treatment, and status of different therapies in the pipeline).
On the other side of the building, windows facing a pedestrian walkway feature a series of large-format flatscreens that pair simple messaging with patient portraits to convey Novocure’s mission.
