100 Years of aerospace engineering education at MIT
"Today’s global aerospace industry employs millions, moves hundreds of millions of people and tons of cargo, and impacts the lives of billions every year. For a century, MIT—the first university in the United States to offer a degree in aeronautical engineering—has been a locus of technical creativity in aerospace." A new exhibit at the MIT celebrates this legacy with a display featuring artifacts that range from an early wind tunnel balance to gyroscopes used in the guidance systems for the Apollo space missions. An interactive table allows visitors to explore the physics of gyroscopes.
