VILNA SHUL

Boston, MA

Project management: Gail Ringel
Exhibit Design: Proun Design, LLC

Media Production: Molly O'Brien

The Vilna Shul is the only remaining synagogue in downtown Boston. Built by immigrants over a century ago, it is the lone survivor of the urban renewal campaign in the 1960s that raised the West End to build Government Center. The restoration of this historic structure has revealed layers of murals and myriad architectural details that are a testament to its vibrant history.

"The Vilna Shul, Boston's Center for Jewish Culture is a thriving cultural and community hub, a historic landmark, and a living museum where people come to learn, celebrate, and be inspired."

Proun Design, in collaboration with Molly O'Brien, developed exhibits and media experiences that interpret the rich history and heritage of this venerable Synagogue.
